Can you convert a bibliography in a document into a library - for sharing

edited October 31, 2017
I would like to share references for collaboration.

I do not create separate folders as I use the same references for several documents.

Is it possible to create a library from an existing document so it can be shared?
  • The best method for sharing items is to use a Zotero Group. Note that items in a group and in your My Library are completely separate—changes in one library won’t affect the item in the other.

You can also export a selected collection or set of items by selecting the items/collection, right-clicking, and choosing Export Items. Zotero RDF will be the best format to share with other Zotero users.

Finally, if you have citations already inserted into a Word document using the Zotero plugin, you can use this tool to extract them and import them into Zotero:

Of the three, using a Group will definitely be the fastest and easiest, and it will also allow you to share any attachment files.
