Australian parliament reference - Chicago 16

Hi all

I'm a long time Zotero user and have come across a problem for the first time!

I'm trying to reference an Australian parliamentary debate with zotero in Chicago 16 notes, and there's no category because this is a bit specific. The correct format is this:

Number. Jurisdiction, Parliamentary Debates, Legislative Chamber, vol. xx, Day Month Year of publication, page, http://xxxxx

An example:

ACT, Parliamentary Debates, Legislative Assembly, vol. 14, 2002, 15.

I've tried a few different categories and fields, but have had a bit of trouble - has anyone run across this before or knows how to do a work around? I'm pretty sure I'll need to start doing them manually!

Thanks in advance!
  • I'm afraid I don't have a good idea to get this right in Chicago Manual. @bwiernik do you have any thoughts for a workaround?
  • (Sorry, missed this one.)

    Super ugly workaround:

Use "Book". Enter "ACT, Parliamentary Debates, Legislative Assembly" into "Author" (single field).

(You can split that up between two fields if you use "Report" and enter part of it in "Report Type", but they will be separated by full stops, not by commas.)

Enter volume into the Volume field (if you use "Report", put this in "Extra")
    volume: 14

    Enter the URL in URL.

The page number is problematic. You can, however, get it to work by entering this into Extra as well:
    issued: 2002, 15

(Zotero's citation processor will interpret "2002, 15" as a literal string and print that if entered into Extra in this way.)

    Together, those will yield this:
ACT, Parliamentary Debates, Legislative Assembly. Vol. 14, 2002, 15.

    With a URL
ACT, Parliamentary Debates, Legislative Assembly. Vol. 14, 2002, 15. http://example.com.
