MARC file err: unsupported format

I have a MARC file exported from my school's library software that Zotero is unable to recognize. I exported with the programs default delimiters so I'm wondering if that could be the problem. The file also does not have any kind of header identifying the type of file, so I wonder if that could be a problem. It is filled with what seem to be MARC entries like the one below:

=LDR 00559cam 2200000 4500

If anyone has any insight into the what is causing the error I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,

  • SOLVED, I think, though any additional insights or corrections would be appreciated.

Apparently there is special MARC8 encoding that Zotero seemed to be looking for in a .mrc file. The file I had was UTF-8 output, but I was able to convert it to MARC8 encoding using the MARCEdit tool. After conversion, the Zotero import worked flawlessly.
