regular text

Hello, I need to explain a few things in a footnote. I am talking about plain, uncategorized text. Not the suffix of a book, article, or anything else. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
  • We have plans for a possibility to add proper citation prefixes, which would work in footnotes too, but there's no timeline. You can use the prefix field of the first citation item to the same effect.
  • Thank you. What do you mean when you say "first citation item"
  • If you're not citing anything in a footnote, you can just create the footnote using Word. If that's not the question, could you give an example?
  • There is a part where a French newspaper refers to "The United America." My advisor wants [sic] and an explanation in a footnote that this is how they referred to it at the beginning.
  • and why wouldn't just a regular footnote created in Word not work?
  • I'll try it now. Many thanks.
