regular text
Hello, I need to explain a few things in a footnote. I am talking about plain, uncategorized text. Not the suffix of a book, article, or anything else. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

adomasvenWe have plans for a possibility to add proper citation prefixes, which would work in footnotes too, but there's no timeline. You can use the prefix field of the first citation item to the same effect.

Porter1865Thank you. What do you mean when you say "first citation item"

adamsmithIf you're not citing anything in a footnote, you can just create the footnote using Word. If that's not the question, could you give an example?

Porter1865There is a part where a French newspaper refers to "The United America." My advisor wants [sic] and an explanation in a footnote that this is how they referred to it at the beginning.

adamsmithand why wouldn't just a regular footnote created in Word not work?

Porter1865I'll try it now. Many thanks.
