Unable to set up syncing

After installing the Zotero Firefox connector and Zotero 5.0.22 I followed the instructions to set up syncing (https://www.zotero.org/user/validate/d2a202a01092bcdac552). When I go to step 3 and click Set Up Syncing I get the error message

Zotero.Sync.Runner is undefined

When I click OK twice a green progress bar is visible across the central, grayed out, panel of Zotero. At this point it is stuck and I cannot recover by closing and reopening Zotero. Help, Report Errors does not provide a Report ID.

My newly created Zotero account is confirmed and Firefox shows that I am logged in. Going to the Zotero connector in Firefox I get the Report ID: 1385043459.

I am trying to run Zotero 5.0.22 on Windows 10 Pro.

Can anyone help? I am new to Zotero and not familiar with it at all. My apologies if there is a thread already open.

    What do you mean by that? This is an error in Zotero itself, so we really need an error report from that, not from the connector.
  • I apologize for this. I later found there was a second popup window behind my browser window that I had not seen. When I cleared this second window everything works but I could not add a new comment as my original post was awaiting moderation.
