how to transfer library data from your zotero count to zotero desktop?

inadvertently, I delete some references in Zotero desktop and fortunately, these references still present in my Zotero count. how can I move it to the database of Zotero desktop?
  • First, disable sync in your desktop client. Then, check the trash in your Zotero desktop client. Are the items there? If so, then right click on them and choose Restore to Library.

Let me know if not, and we can give more instructions.
  • dear Bwiernik,
I tried it, but it doesn't work.

Okay. Then go to the item in the Zotero.org web library. On the item details page, click on the export button (the folder icon with an arrow in the upper right of the page) and choose rdf_zotero (you can also use the checkboxes in the main library list view to select multiple items and export from there). Import the exported .rdf file into Zotero using the Import function (File--Import). If there are attachments, you will need to download these from the item details pages and then attach them manually.

There may be a faster more automatic way, but a zotero developer would need to weigh in there.

@dstillman Would it also be possible to make an edit to the items in the online library, then sync to trigger a sync conflict and select the remote item?
  • it works! thank you so much!
