new style Global Ecology and Biogeography

Hello all,

it seems as if GEB requires a new style-format since the last time I've looked at it.

For example, it is stated that when a work has three, four, or five authors, all authors should be cited the first time the reference occurs; subsequent citations include only the surname of the first author followed by et al., (not Italicized and with a period after “al.”) and the year if it is the first citation of the reference within a paragraph.

If I remember correctly, the old version only required the first author. Anyways, when I download the GEB style format from the Zotero Style Repository, the used and the now-required format do not match.

Has anybody a correct .csl, which he/she could share?

Thank you in advance!
  • How you can read in the Guide for authors:
References are styled according to the sixth edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association.
So you can use any from APA style available in the repository:
    https://www.zotero.org/styles/?q=American Psychological Association 6th

Post here please, what version of APA style is the best for Global Ecology and Biogeography. We can change the style for this journal.

I totally read over the very first sentence of the reference manual. That's quite embarrassing.

At first sight, the 6th edition of the American Psychological Associations seems fine, but I will re-check every citation of my manuscript - if there is anything amiss, I will post it.

    Thank you very much!
