newbie questions: how to record online journal articles and versioned specifications

A couple questions from a newbie...

1. How do I record an article from an online journal such as http://www.stonybrook.edu/libmap/coordinates.htm ? I can try to use the journal article item type, but the metadata fields (volume, issue, pages) don't really apply in this case, and as a result citations come out all wrong.

2. How do I record a versioned specification such as https://portal.opengeospatial.org/files/?artifact_id=46568 ? I can use the Report item type, but that leads to several problems. One, this specification has an editor, not an author, but some inexplicable reason editor isn't offered by Zotero as an option for reports. Two, there's no place to put a version number.
  • add 1) there is no specific translator for this site and the site does not provide standardized metadata. So you have to add the information to the Zotero manually.
    (maybe some translator developer can prepare the translator for this site)

    add 2) it is based on the style which you use. But in general, you can use an extra field for specification of variable "version". For example from your post, write:
    version: 3.3.0
    to the extra field. If your CSL style template uses the variable "version", then this info will be correctly showed in the output from the style template.
  • 1) I would use Report for this.

    2) You can Enter both editor and version in Extra like this:
    editor: Last || First A.
    version: 3.3.0
    (It’s an oversight that report doesn’t include editor that will likely be fixed in Zotero 5.1.)
