Combining bibliography generated from MS. Word and Zotero

Hi,
I have two types of bibliographies; one generated in MS. Word for one chapter of my thesis and another one generated in Zotero for rest of the chapters. I need to ask how can merge these two bibliographies at the end of my thesis. I need the bibliographies alphabetically ordered.
  • If all you need is for the combined bibliography to be sorted alphabetically, then you can convert both the Zotero bibliography and Word bibliography to flat text. For Zotero, use the “Unlink citations” button in the Zotero tab. For Word, I think this function is in the References tab. Then copy, paste the two bibliographies together, select all of them, and then use the Sort function in the Home tab in Word.

If you need more formatting changes besides sorting, you will need to re-insert the Word citations as Zotero citations. You can export the references from Word as BibTeX then, then import that into Zotero.

Follow these instructions (steps 1-4) to export from Word to BibTeX format:
    http://studies.k-jahn.de/2012/02/22/exporting-a-word-library-to-latexbibtex/

Then import into Zotero using Import from Clipboard.

You'll have to insert the citations into the Word document again, but the data can be imported en masse into Zotero.
