Disabling zotero update + partial update not working

I have customized some files in zotero like the tinymce.js in zotero.jar. But each time Zotero is updated my edits are removed. Maybe a partial update won't do that but I always get a message telling me that partial update has failed so I need to do a complete update.
To prevent losing the custom edits, it would be great to have a feature to postpone the update to say 1 every 30 days (or any custom delay).
Thanks!

  • There is a hidden preferences to change the auto update behavior -- it's inherited from Firefox and I don't know exactly what it's name is, but just searching for update in about:config should give you a very small set of candidates.

    Thanks! I guess it's the app.update.auto

    Here is what I did:
    - Open the hidden preferences : Edit/preferences then under the tabs Advances and General, then the button Config Editor.
    - Double click on app.update.auto to set it to false

Edit: the app.update.enabled should also be set to False
