Firefox Zotero Connector gray "Z"

Zotero Firefox plugin always shows a gray "Z", no matter which URL.

No proxies, basic home router.

Zotero standalone works fine.

Local test Zotero URL (http://127.0.0.1:23119/connector/ping) returns:
"Zotero Connector Server is Available"

Default data directory instalation: ~Zotero/


OS: Debian 8.8 amd64 (x86_64)
Zotero standalone: 5.0.11 x86_64, install dir /usr/local/zotero
Firefox (ESR) from distro: firefox-esr 45.9.0esr-1~deb8u1 amd64 (x86-64), Important: NO EXTENTIONS, NEW PROFILE only Zotero connector installed.

    Firefox 45 ESR is no longer supported by us or by Mozilla, so you'll need to upgrade to Firefox 52 ESR or the latest main version. (Firefox 45 had incomplete WebExtension support, so the Zotero Connector won't work with it. You shouldn't even be able to install it in 45, but it's possible that even that check requires a later version.)

    Thanks for your help, Debian 8.8 packages FF ESR 45.9, upgraded to Debain 8.9, with FF ESR 52, and now it works prefectly!
