Zotero, Debian 9 and pdftotext/pdfinfo

edited August 5, 2017
I know it was already discussed ~4 years ago (https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/31731/zotero-debian-gnu-linux-and-pdftotext-pdfinfo) but since there seem to be some changes about the current situation and the other one is rather old, I have decided that it is better to open a new thread. I hope it is okay.

I am using debian 9 stable. pdftotext and pdfinfo tools seem not installed in my Zotero (debian's package, v4.0.29) and install buttons are invisible (probably because of this: https://github.com/zotero/zotero-standalone-build/issues/28#issuecomment-28781772). However, in fact, those two tools are installed to my system via "poppler-utils" package and I can use both tools using the terminal without any problem.

I've read in the old discussion referred above (https://github.com/zotero/zotero-standalone-build/issues/28#issuecomment-18007783) that Zotero uses a modified version of "pdfinfo", however in a more recent discussion in GitHub (https://github.com/zotero/zotero-standalone-build/issues/42#issuecomment-226969096), it is stated that modified version is no longer used. However it still does not see the tools installed in the system. I am not aware if this is changed in Zotero 5?

I have tried to manually download both tools and place them into the Data directory (as suggested here: https://github.com/zotero/zotero-standalone-build/issues/28#issuecomment-44613976) however Zotero still stated that pdfinfo is not installed (I renamed them and made them executable), but it could find pdftotext.

Now I am not sure what to do to be able to use both tools in Zotero in my system. I would be happy if you can guide me. Thank you.
