Lost sync credentials break Mac Word cite plug-in

Hello,

You did a great job on 5! I haven't seen all the posts on sync issues, so apologies if my question was already answered.

When starting Zotero without an internet connection, which is often, it loses my sync credential in Preferences > Sync. This also leads to seemingly losing all installed styles in the next pane. They are there, however, I can still view them in Preview, even edit them. Just not listed anymore.

Next, when I try to insert a citation in Mac Word there's often no reaction at all and sometimes the error log says:

(3)(+0000000): Integration: Request already in progress; not executing MacWord2016 addEditCitation

FYI:

version => 5.0.7, platform => MacIntel, oscpu => Intel Mac OS X 10.12, locale => de, appName => Zotero, appVersion => 5.0.7, extensions => Zotero Word for Mac Integration (5.0.1.SA.5.0.7, extension), Zotero LibreOffice Integration (5.0.6.SA.5.0.7, extension)

Can anybody help me? Paper is approaching deadline, as usual.

Thanks! Holger
  • Could you produce a Debug ID of a "simulation" of this issue by disabling your internet connection and getting to the broken state, then enabling the connection and submitting a Debug ID?

If it's not triggered when manually disabling the connection, then you can save the debug output somewhere and post it online on gist.github.com or similar when possible.
  • Done! See D1700927107. To reproduce the error, I set the log to activate after restarting, then I shut down Zotero, disconnected WiFi, restarted Zotero and uploaded what was in in the log file. The bug had occurred: credentials and styles lost. I hope that serves You. Thanks a lot for Your quick reply, Adomasven.
  • I can reproduce this. We'll fix this for the next version — thanks.
  • Thanks a lot. Good You can reproduce this. Nevertheless, here's the data adomasven asked for: D415361345.
  • We've fixed this for 5.0.8, which should be out within the next day. The fix is available now in the latest 5.0 Beta.
  • 5.0.8 is out now with this fix.
