Zotero Standalone 5.0 crashes when trying to use Firefox Connector

Yesterday evening I tried to use Firefox Zotero Connector to add an entry to a recently installed Zotero 5.0 Standalone.

The website entry was added but the connector stalled at the snapshot and after about 15 minutes Zotero Standalone crashed. However even after the crash, the connector window (small window, bottom right on the webpage) itself remained open with no way to close it short of closing the whole page.

After the crash, (reported in a pop up window by Windows as "Zotero is no longer working..."etc.) I reopened Zotero. It opened without the extra Date and Date Modified columns I had added on previous opening.

I checked the Zotero Error report. It is pasted below.

"No errors have been logged since Zotero started.

The following day I was able to replicate the problem with a newly opened web page. It occurred exactly as described above, including the same "error" message.

    Does this happen for every page or only a specific one?

    I have tried it on a couple of other pages. It behaves differently on each page. In neither does it offer a snapshot, so its not stalling, but in one it only collects a website link in addition to the Zotero entry and in the other the only data is the Zotero entry. No website link, no snapshot.

    This is despite later specifically selecting "Save to Zotero (Web Page with Snapshot)" and trying again on three different pages (including the two already tested above).

    By this you mean that Zotero itself was frozen and unresponsive during this time, or were you otherwise interacting with it? Are you able to reproduce this?

    I mean that Zotero completely closed down after the warning from Windows that it was not responding.

    This website https://www.abebooks.com/products/isbn/9781864030396?cm_sp=bdp-_-9781864030396-_-isbn10 caused it twice, the second time after I reopened the website in a new tab, and clicked the connector again to ensure that I had reproduced the same sequence of events.

    Mysteriously, on this page now, the same stalling process occurs but without producing what appears to be a timeout and crash of Zotero.

    The small "Saving to my Library" connector window on the web page itself shows the download of the page information is in blue, so apparently successful, but the word "Snapshot" underneath is greyed out.

    Other pages appear to respond differently, and don't crash it, but in these cases, the small connector window does not include the word "Snapshot".
