Q) How to solve this error: safari can't find the file

Hello --

I'm having trouble viewing the pdf file after going to the web page of an article.
So, if I click Download pdf button, I see the error: safari can't find the file.
I tried this with Chrome, but it was the same.

I have been just copying and pasting a doi in the new window of the web brower, which successfully led me to the pdf file.

Any help would be appreciated.
  • What specific URL are you having problems with?
  • It's not just a single URL and it happens to many web pages of journals.

But here is one of those:
    file:///science/article/pii/S0010945209000872/pdfft?md5=6125496b5003fdc9d2367b5c6d7e12b4&pid=1-s2.0-S0010945209000872-main.pdf

The link above was directed by this saved webpage:
    file:///Users/YSL/Library/Application%20Support/Zotero/Profiles/67ddeusm.default/zotero/storage/ERAA5EA3/S0010945209000872.html

  • so you seem to try to open links from Snapshots saved in Zotero. That won't work, I'm afraid.
  • Ok. Then how to best go about in obtaining the PDF file?

Relatedly, I'm wondering why the PDF file doesn't open right away when I click on the article within Zotero window. For some other saved ones, I can get the PDF file right away as soon as I click the saved article.
