Microsoft Word add-in not working

I am running Zotero 5.0.4 standalone and Word 2016.

Zotero preferences says Word add-in is not currently installed, but the add-in does appear in Word. However, the buttons don't work properly. The "add citation" dialogue appears when any button is pressed and I cannot insert a citation or generate a bibliography using those buttons. The only way to insert a citation or generate a bibliography is to drag and drop from Zotero.

Perhaps just growing pains from the recent upgrade?

Did you try re-installing from Zotero?

Yes. The "install Microsoft Word Add-in" button has no effect.

Can you generate a debug ID for pressing one of the buttons in Word and interacting with the add citation dialog?

It works now; I am not sure what changed (I did nothing). Thanks so much for helping.
