In-text citation of ebook with no page numbers

edited July 13, 2017
Hi!

According to this: http://askus.library.wwu.edu/faq/116395

In APA, I should do in text citations of ebooks with no page numbers using the following format: (Smith, 1978, "The Future of Libraries," para. 1)

But I cannot figure out how to make Zotero do that (with the word plugin).

My main problem is mainting the paragraph number at the end of the reference, with the chapter title between that and author, year.

Suffix and Prefix gives me the wrong placement of the chapter title.

Anyone?
  • You should enter all of the chapter title and the paragraph number in the Suffix field.
  • Thank you! What a simple solution, that I somehow did not manage to find myself :-) Thanks!
  • Hi,

my problem is quite similar: in cases like these I need "o.S." (German for "no page"), which I put in the suffix field as well.

But if filling out the suffix field, the delimiter for in-text-citations is not displayed after the suffix....

    Example:
    (PĆ¼ttner 2015, S. 13; Schriesheim et al. 1993, o.S. Zetsche 2014)
... there should be a semicolon between "o.S." and "Zetsche"...

    Any ideas?
  • You'll want to build a conditional for this and not do this via suffix.
It will test "page in that field?", if not "I'll display o. S.".
See this style how it was done. Lines 544 onwards for example: https://github.com/citation-style-language/styles/pull/2898/files
  • Thanks! Worked out fine! Much better than the suffix solution!
