I cannot find the check item. When I add reference in the text, only subscript is shown while no real reference at the end of the text. Can somebody help me? Thanks!
When I use Chicago manual of style 16th edition, there's an option shows footnotes or endnotes, so both of the subscript and reference appeared which seems normal to me. But when I add reference using Nature or Chemical science styles, there's no option and no reference appeared in the text.
those are fundamentally different sorts of styles. Nature and ACS have no footnotes/endnotes, but numerical bibliographies (various differences, but the clearest is that for the latter, the same item is referred to by the same number when cited again; that's both not done and technically impossible with footnotes). As I say, you can see the references on inserting a bibliography. This is all working as it should and has nothing to do with v 5.0. It's been like this since v. 1.0.
(the "Store references in document" checkbox in the Zotero document preferences was removed in Zotero 5.0, but this only affects the embedding of item metadata into the word processor documents, which is now always enabled; see https://github.com/zotero/zotero-word-for-windows-integration/issues/30 for background)
