Can I use Zotero without syncing?

I have reached the free limit, and am not in a position to be able to pay for an upgrade. Since I only ever use it on the one computer anyway, I was wondering if I could turn syncing off and continue managing additional citations/PDF's locally, copying via USB when I move to a new computer.

Sure. Syncing is entirely optional. If you still want your item metadata available via the website, you can also disable just file syncing and only sync data, which is free and unlimited.
