Upgrade StorageCitation abnormally long after opening my doc, unusually long then

Here is the problem I recently encounter:
Whent I try citing for the firs time, the green charging bar keeps charging for a very long period of time (up to one hour or more!). It happens every time I try a citation after opening my document . All the citations in the document seem to update as windows informing that I modified one or the other since the last sync open. These windows only open at the very end of the process.
Even after the first citation , the green charging bar keeps charging for quite long, as it lasts several minutes, which is unusual.
It is quite a handicap as I am supposed to send my Phd in the next days. Nevertheless, the thesis is less than 400 pages long.
Steps to reproduce:
1)open firefox
2)open my wor doc
3)clic on the cite button in the Zotero extension pannel in Word
4)cite and press enter when the citation has been chosen

bwiernikHow many citations do you have? A few things that will speed it up--delete the bibliography until you are done. Change to a style like Annual Reviews Author-Date that doesn't change formatting between first and subsequent cites. Insert citations into a different doc, then cut and paste into your document.
