Saved citations missing

Please assist. I have been using Zotero and was quite happy with it. Now the problem is when I start Firefox and click the Z icon, the zotero interface which appears is empty. I can't see any of my saved citations. Then when I wish to cite from Word, first I get an error message. On my next attempt, I successfully cite. At this point the zotero interface that pops up from Word can show all my saved citations which tells me they are not lost. Perhaps they are hidden somewhere. Please let me know how I can see them again from the firefox browser itself.
