I solved my problem. It wasn't working because I created the text with citations at my working computer, and in my home version of Zotero I didn't have the original style used in the text (I was trying to convert from Russian GOST R 7.0.5-2008 (Russian) into Chicago Manual of Style 16th edition (full note)). After installing the Russian GOST style, everything works fine! Maybe whitlark could check the same way of solving the problem, too.
