Question about notes

hey
a quick question: when i add a note to an item why does it not appear in a rich-text TinyMCE editor format as it should but rather as plain text which doesn't enable me to add highlighting of the text or other functions?

Snapshot annotations do not use TinyMCE. Further, TinyMCE is only in 1.5b2.
