Limits for Institutional Storage Plans

I and my colleagues would like to use Zotero to organize and share our bibliographic searches.
We would like to create a private group to share our references but we would also like to store pdf.

The website indicates the annual cost for 25 users: $450 for a Storage Limit Per User of 2Go ($1,350 for 6Go, $2,700 unlimited).
-> What do you mean by Storage Limit Per User? Storage of the group + personal account? Does it mean that the group library is limited to 2Go with the first solution?
-> What happens if some users leave the company (as example trainees)? Can we replace user account during the year ?
-> Are the pdf stored in the Zotero software also visible on the website?
-> Can we change the storage plan during year?

Thank you for your help
  • 1) The institutional plans provided additional storage per user, personal and group storage combined. Importantly, files stored in groups count only towards the storage of the group's owner. In other words, if all you want is a group with unlimited storage used by 25 users, you only need a single unlimited account (for the group's owner). Everyone else can be on free accounts (as long as they don't use >300MB for their personal library).

    2) I don't know exactly how this is handled in detail, but I'm pretty sure the answer is yes.

    3) Yes, though only in closed or private groups and only accessible for group members.

    4) Yes you can. The old storage you paid for gets prorated, though I'm not 100% how they do this at the moment. It used to be that it just extended your new plan, so if you bought a 6GB storage plan and then upgraded to unlimited after 6 month, you got 3 month extra on your unlimited plan (etc.)

    >>>> Does that mean users on free account can still add references with PDF?
  • to the group, yes, that's exactly what it means.
  • Thanks very much for the answer!
