chrome extension zotero connector not working

Within the past week, my chrome extension button stopped working. When I click on something to save, the information window informing me that my item is being saved to zotero does not pop up, and the item is not saved. Further, when I attempt to look at the 'options' for this chrome extension, I am taken to this page chrome-extension://ekhagklcjbdpajgpjgmbionohlpdbjgc/preferences/preferences.html which is blank/does not load for me. Any thoughts? Re-installing the connector does not help.

    Try disabling other extensions and seeing if it helps

    Nope, even with all other extensions disabled, the connector doesn't work and I still can't access preferences/options for the connector.

    1. Open extension://ekhagklcjbdpajgpjgmbionohlpdbjgc/preferences/preferences.html
    2. Press F12 (or Cmd+Alt+I if on MacOS)
    3. Developer tools will have popped up
    4. Select the console tab
    5. Take a screenshot/copy the contents of the console
    6. Upload the screenshot somewhere and post a link here/paste the contents on gist.github.com (no registration needed) and post the link here
