Punctuation problem

I am using APA style for my references. I frequently cite legislation and the APA style is very convenient. The problem is that when I put the citation at the end of the sentence word does not want to capitalize the first letter of the next sentence. For example:
The mayor is elected for a period of 4 years (art. 1 of Local Government Act, 2001). and the next sentence is with small capital. When I cite other things there is no problem, only with the legislation. Have you had such problem? Is it word bug or something else?
  • It is not a problem of Zotero, I think. The dot behind the bracket on the end of citation is not part of the citation and you have to write it manually, have you?
  • Yes. That's right. I think that the problem may be with word. Beacuse the date is in the format dd.mm.yyyy. When I put something else for example (Rogers, 2000) there is no problem.
