"Insert Citation" takes too long
This is the first time I am working with Linux, Zotero in Firefox, and a big text (350 pages) in LibreOffice. Meanwhile I inserted more than thousand citations in footnotes. Sometimes it takes 2 to 5 seconds, but quite often it takes 30, 60 or more seconds until the citations gets inserted.
My computer is a Core i7 with 16 GB RAM. So I don't think that this could be a reason. I read about broken inserts, but I cannot see anything like this in the Navigator of LibreOffice.
How can I accelerate inserting?

adamsmithWe're actively talking about ways to speed this up, but currently your only option (and what most people in your situation do) is edit their files in chapters and only merge them in the end.

ppfThank you for the hint! Splitting into chapters has really helped.
-
bwiernikYou can also insert citations into a blank document and then cut and paste into your document, again running refresh once at the end.
-
ppfBut how can I copy and paste a citation? When I paste in a copied citation I only get the text but not the link to the database.
-
bwiernikBy default, Word will paste all of the field codes that Zotero uses, as well as the plain text. Check your default paste settings in Word. What are they?

ppfI am working with LibreOffice. But I think the important thing in this case is that it must be a second (different) document in which you paste something. That is working. I tried to copy something into the same document.
