Hi - I'd like to have a style which allows footnotes without brackets and a normal bibliography, like this -

Collins, R. 2015: ‘Economic reduction or military reorganization? Granary demolition and conversion in later 4th-century northern Britannia’, in R. Collins, M. Symonds and M. Weber (eds), Roman Military Architecture on the Frontiers. Armies and their Architecture in Late Antiquity, Oxford, 18–31 [ the italics won't show here ]

I really have tried to edit a Chicago csl file but admit abject failure. I can't even get the Zotero editor to Find - shouldn't Ctrl-F open a dialog?

Has anyone produced such a csl file which they might donate?

For first, try to find style by example on http://editor.citationstyles.org/searchByExample/ If you do not find correct style then ask for new style - follow instruction on https://github.com/citation-style-language/styles/wiki/Requesting-Styles

If you just want a Chicago-ish style with author-date in the footnote, you could look at World Politics, which is just that (though very different from your example, which has little to do with Chicago).

Also, if you want to try to edit an CSL file to meet your needs, starting with one other than Chicago would probably be a good one. Chicago is one of the most complex CSL styles.
