[Beta 5] Possible open extracted annotations (from Zotifile) direct in PDF reader software?

Hi,

In Zotero 4 for Firefox I was able to click in the link from extracted annotions (generated by Zotfile) from any program (e.g. links pasted in Word, Freeplane) and the PDF reader software was opened in the very exact part of the annotation.

In this screen-recording I show this process using links from Zotero's extracted annotations in Freeplane (mind map): https://goo.gl/ISWBiX
Please, see this Freeplane thread for more deatils:
https://sourceforge.net/p/freeplane/discussion/758437/thread/9892c197/?limit=25#615b

With Zotero Beta 5, when I click in links from extracted annotions, only Zotero Standalone opens without showing the respective annotation or PDF. I mean, the links once allowed me connect plenty of applications to Zotero (then PDF reader) are now useless.

Is there any workaround to open extracted annotations (from Zotifile) direct in PDF reader software, or at least the correspondent annotation be opened in Zotero (instead of just open Zotero without pointing to any content)?

Thanks for assistance!
Carlos
  • I don't remember the status of this (and I thought it had been solved) but I do know the ZotFile developer is aware of this issue. Which version of the Zotero beta are you using (under about Zotero)

Thanks for reply. I'm using Zotero 5.0-beta.167+b732a82 and Zotfile 5.0.0b3
  • yeah, that's the most recent one -- anyone else know the status of the open-pdf links? Are you on Windows? I think they may simply have stopped working there.
  • I'm on Windows
  • Any updated on the availability of this functionality?
    Thanks!
