Syncing Error - "Error processing uploaded data"

Hi all,

I've been running into a syncing error that I hope to get resolved.

It seems at some point in the past couple weeks my Zotero has stopped syncing -- meaning a lot of the data I have uploaded to my local hasn't been uploaded to my group server. Each time I attempt to sync to the group, I receive a (!) "Error processing uploaded data" and I'm notified that an item (or two) has been changed in multiple locations. I try to resolve this by choosing the local version, clicking 'Done,' and following that, Zotero tries to sync my library.. only to give me another (!) notification, and I try the whole process over again.

I'm concerned about losing a lot of the data I've entered over the past while, and though I can back-up what I've done, it will obviously take a while for me to re-enter all this data.

Any thoughts on what the problem is here? Thanks so much in advance!

Can you provide a Report ID?
  • Yep. Report ID: 9e7e68c5.

This ID changes every time I try to sync.

    Thanks for your response.

@nyakashiro You need to click on "Report ID" in dstillman's post which takes you to a page that describes how to submit a Report ID. I am not entirely sure what the string you provided above is, but it is incorrect (Report IDs only ever contain numbers).
  • Sorry about this, my mistake.

I've been given the following Report ID: 1109961094.
I am on a Mac OSX 10.9.5, and running the Zotero standalone version 4.0.29.15.

    Thank you!
  • If this is significant, I have been (accidentally) operating under a co-worker's account: kfindlay. The problem became evident when I attempted to log-out and log-in to my account, and I was notified unless I synced properly the data I had been entering on the local would be deleted.

Not sure why you're not getting a clearer error, but this is from having a collection that's too long to sync. Look for the collection that begins with "File 2 Part 1" and fix it.
  • Thank you! Looks to be working now.
