Since installing the beta version on Firefox 3.0.8 on Ubuntu 8.10, pdfs have not been indexed, and perhaps separately, zotero will sometimes stop saving records when I click on the icon in the URI bar. PDFs will not index when I try to instruct zotero to do it manually, and will fail with no sign.
Even when the translator fails, I can still make new records by using the drop-down and entering details manually.

seanDo you have the PDF indexing tools installed? Check the Search tab in Zotero Preferences.

bettyYep, version 3.02pl1 of both pdfinfo and pdftotext, apparently.

bettyJust wanted to report that, at least insofar as indexing pdf files goes, the problem turned out to be that for some reason, file permissions were set incorrectly for pdfinfo-linux and pdftotext-linux, for some reason, possibly when I backed up my data. chmod +x ing them fixed it.
