Error 1927272211

I am having all sorts of problems with Zotero beta and I don't even know where to begin. This is the latest error report (1927272211), and it appears to be a javascript error. The errors have been all over the place but started with some kind of serious miscommunication between zotero and google (googleads). Now I can no longer read many of my university email messages unless Zotero is disabled and the firefox google search box won't work - it just takes me to a blank google.com webpage - unless I have Zotero disabled.

At this point, I have turned off auto sync in Zotero and I am contemplating a complete reinstall or going back to 1.09. If I reinstall or revert back to 1.09, can I maintain all of the data and notes that I have added since installing the beta? I have all of my beta files backed up elsewhere but I am no longer sure if beta data is compatible with 1.09. Can anyone provide advice?

Thanks,
Jennifer
  • Go to the Proxies pane of the Zotero preferences, make a note of what's there (including in the popup window for each entry), delete all the entries, and restart Firefox. Then let us know what was in the list.

We've made a number of fixes to the proxy code for Beta 3, and existing proxy entries will be cleared automatically on upgrade.
  • Thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly. I appreciate the help.

Okay, I deleted all entries, as well unchecking the boxes for "Automatically recognize common URL-rewriting proxy systems" and "Transparently redirect requests through previously used proxies." Here are the entries that were in the proxy list:

    Multi-site https://%h/%p

    Multi-site http://%h.proxy2.library.uiuc.edu/%p

    Multi-site http://www.library.uiuc.edu/%p

    Multi-site http://%h.proxy2.library.uiuc.edu/%p

    Multi-site http://%h.proxy2.library.uiuc.edu/%p

There were not any popup windows for any of the entries. Do I need to add my library's proxy again or should I leave that blank for now?

    Thanks again,

    Jennifer
  • It was likely the https://%h/%p entry, which is a bug that we've already fixed on the development trunk and that will be fixed in Beta 3.

You'll have to see if address bar saving through your proxy works without turning the automatic recognize pref back on, but, if not, you may be able to turn it on, log into the proxy and allow Zotero to recognize it, and disable the pref. The proxy setup is changing to be a bit more straightforward in Beta 3 so that saving will work regardless of the proxy prefs.
