Unable to extract annotations despite adding Zotfile for Zotero standalone (Windows)

Hi,

I'm unable to extract annotation from my pdf files. The error message that I get is as follows:

"Attachments skipped because they are top level items, snapshots or the item does not
exist".

I'm new to Zotero. Can someone please help me understand what this refers to and how I can rectify it?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

You are trying to extract annotations from standalone PDF files. Attach the PDF to a parent Zotero item by right-clicking and choosing Retrieve Metadata or Create Parent Item. This will also let you enter/edit the bibliographic details for the item and properly generate citations using Zotero.

Moving forward, you will want to import items into Zotero using the Zotero button in your browser.

Dear friends,
My Zotero with Zotfile can extract annotations without a problem.
I do have a PDF which I can read and copy text from (it's not a scanned document) and I have many annotations.
Unfortunately, Zotfile cannot extract annotations from this specific PDF and I cannot see an error message.

Running Windows 10Pro, Foxit reader and Zotero with Zotfile last version.

Can someone help?
