Working with master documents in OpenOffice

Question: is there a way to use zotero with master documents in OpenOffice?

I was hoping to use OOo's master document function for a book project, and thought it would simply be possible to create a bibliography in the master document, that would include all references cited in the different chapters/sub-documents that make up the master doc. The problem is that I have no access to the zotero toolbar when editing the master document, it only appears when I edit the individual sub-documents.

Is there any solution to that? Workarounds? Or should I post this as a feature request? Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

    Zotero now works with OOo master documents using the latest beta version (2.0b7.2) and latest OOo plugin (3.0a3) !

    Installed Zotero today. Toolbar does appear in master documents, but does not work, a java exception is thrown when I want to insert a bibliography in the master document.

    I'm having the same issue (@aszszelp) with Zotero 2.0b7.4 and OpenOffice plugin 3.0a5. Running Mac OSX, Firefox 3.5.4, OpenOffice 3.1.1 (build 9420).

    I looked for instructions on how to install a patch from the zotero-dev discussion cited above @obstruction, but couldn't find the correct directory for Addons.xcu patch.

    Advice would be welcome. Thanks!

    Sorry I can't be of any help with the patch, but just a word to confirm that everything is still working well for me, using the latest versions of zotero, the plugin, OOo3.1.1. I am running Ubuntu 9.10 (but things were working on 9.04 too).
    One thing I had to do to get the new Firefox extension for OOo working was to change the Firefox Java plugin, as described here: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/8706/openoffice-plugin-30a1-in-linux-zotero-integration-error/ . Could that have also solved my master doc problem??

    For anyone who has successfully worked with master documents, have you encountered the following message?

    "This document contains Zotero ReferenceMarks. Upon reopening the document, Zotero will be unable to edit existing citations or add new references to the bibliography. To save Zotero citation information, please select the 'ODF Text Document' format when saving, or switch to Bookmarks in the Zotero Document Preferences."

    Are there any implications of this that I should be aware of?
