I'm moving my genealogy library from Calibre to Zotero Standalone (ZS). After dragging 20 or 30 books over, I realized I wasn't capturing the information that I wanted in my metadata (the author name is currently combined with the title, which I do not want and I need to add volume numbers in the metadata). I've searched the site but I'm not seeing an answer to my question. How do I change the item type to "book"?

    If you just drag items over, they're just file attachments, not actually full items in Zotero. You want to right-click them and create parent item (and then fill out all info you need). There's no way to get them in a more structure format from Calibre (it's very much possible there isn't -- Calibre doesn't really have the same purpose as Zotero, so they might not bother).
