extracting notes, citations and highlights
The main draw for me with Zotero was the ability to extract notes, highlights and citations from a pdf (or word) file as shown in the following video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4aDvAPLZwCY :Understanding Zotero: Working with PDFs
I have a standalone version running primarily on Chrome and Windows Enterprise 7 (our school district's choice, not mine).
When I follow the directions on the video, right click on the pdf file and look for the "manage attachments' option at the bottom, I see no such thing. Only a "Reindex Item" option. I tried the export and it placed an RDF file into my computer's main drive. My Zotero files are all stored in the Zotero cloud, so this also surprised me.
Any help would be much appreciated! I'm new to this world and though I looked through the forums, I couldn't find one that matched this same problem, though I did see others referring to the same youtube video.
Thanks!

dstillmanThat's a ZotFile feature, not a Zotero feature.
