How to unrelate items

I use both 1.0.9 and 1.5b2 on different computers. In neither version I was able to discover how to undo relating two items. Neither the support pages not the forums seem to contain any information about this. How should I go about doing this?

In the related items tab, click the '-' sign that is to the right of the name of the related item.
