field citation style remains empty - cannot cite

The field citation style suddenly remains empty. This is both the case in Firefox when selecting an entry for bibliography. It is also the case in Microsoft Word.

This results in not being able to use Zotero at all at the moment, because without a citation style you cannot select the bibliographical entry you need.

I have tried re-installing Zotero, but to no avail.

try resetting your styles from the advanced tab of the Zotero preferences.

thank you so much - i could not figure out how to reset the styles. but i figured out how to add styles manually, and that is what I did thanks to your advice.
