Use only zotero standalone and firefox plugin without zotero pane

I never use the zotero pane in Firefox, is there a way to have only the "save to zotero" button and/or have everything saved directly to the standalone? I do not want what is basically the same tool pointing at the same data folder, and it would be one less thing to worry about in Firefox.

Well, technically if you're using Firefox and Standalone with a shared data directory, stuff does save directly to Standalone (if you have Standalone running while you save, you won't even be able to open the Zotero pane).
But if that does still bother you, the good news is that Zotero will release a "connector only" version along with or shortly after the Zotero 5.0 release.

Thanks for the feedback. Apparently what you described it's not working for me. I have setup SA and synced with a webdav, then in FF when I click on save reference it is saved in the FF and not in SA. Also, if I have SA open I can still click on Z and open the Zotero pane in firefox. How do I fix this?
