One major reason is that every time there is a new FF installation, the FF sync will not sync manually installed zotero addon.
Hence you can't make an addon on the market so FF sync can sync it?

adamsmithThe review process for the mozilla add-on market doesn't work for add-ons of the size of Zotero. It might re-appear in the future, but only because Zotero is going to remove the fully feature Firefox add-on and replace it with a Standalonce/Connector combination the way it exists for Chrome/Safari/Opera.
