Syncing problems

edited December 5, 2016
I seem to be stuck across a couple of different machines. I've waited for a few weeks in the hope that (especially) my (very large) group libraries would eventually sync on my 4.0.29.16 Zotero installation - but no success. I then tried installing the 5.0 beta in a new separate Firefox profile, in the hope that that one might sync more elegantly, but this is what I get (for hours).

On my home computer, the sync icon also keeps spinning ("getting updated data from sync server").
Could somebody please take a look on the server side to find out what the deal is? Thanks much.
  • Not sure who did what where or when - but it all mysteriously got 'unstuck' today! Fully synced on all of my PCs with 4.0. If there is some 'agency' (as opposed to just happenstance) involved here: I'd still love to find out what went wrong, and how I can prevent that in the future. Thanks!

We didn't do anything on our end, but it looks like you had an extraordinarily large download that eventually went through.

You should benefit quite a lot from the new sync architecture in 5.0. We're very close to releasing 5.0, so if you still have that profile, it'd be great to debug that problem, or else you might run into that as soon as the upgrade happens. The latest build might do a better job of saying what the issue is at startup. Could you install that and try again? (And if it still shows the progress meter, the Reporting Startup Errors instructions explain how to provide the actual error).
