How to change text color in footnotes

I am writing a dissertation and the formatting requirements say text should all be black. But text in the Zotero footnote fields always shows up as blue and I can't figure out where to change this. (I could select the text in Word and change it to black but new footnotes will still appear as blue). I am using Zotero 4 with a plugin into Word 2016, on a Mac.

This is likely due to a setting in Word. The text appearance for footnotes is controlled in Word via the _Word_ styles setting. Zotero settings have nothing to do with controlling the appearance of text in footnotes -- only the content of the text. Someone else here may be able to give you instructions for finding the setting. You will likely have success through Word Help or you can Google "Word 2016 Mac footnote style changing"
