Zotero integration to Word 2016 for Mac

Hi!

I recently downloaded Office 365 and Zotero no longer seems to be connected to my Word documents (no little button in the bar at the top)

It is still connected to my chrome, but is there a way to link Zotero to the newly downloaded Word without having to uninstall and reinstall again?

What operating system are you using? If you are on a Mac see these instructions regarding Word 2016. There's a section for Windows on that page too.

OS X El Capitan, 10.11.4 - Think this is the operating system.
I will try and follow the instructions provided thank you! But I am struggling to find the Word Start Up Folder, any advice?

Hi! I managed to follow the instructions given, but unfortunately it didnt do anything. I copied the zotero.dot file into the newly located Word Startup folder, and restarted word. Is there more I need to do?

Sorry for the additional reply! I have now found zotero under "add ins" in word, however it wont let me use it because I need to open firefox. I dont use firefox, I use chrome

Do you have Zotero Standalone running while trying this? The error message may just be outdated.

I do have standalone running yes, but the error message pops up when I try and insert a citation in word

What's the filepath to your Word Standalone folder?

Do you mean the word Startup folder?
Library>Group Containers>UBF8T346G9.Office>User Content>StartUp>Word

yes, sorry, that's what I meant. That looks right. Could you maybe try restarting your computer for good measure? Any security software that you could disable temporarily for testing?
The add-on is installed correctly but can't communicate with Zotero and I'm not quite sure why.
