New computer, transfering library

Is there a way I can transfer data and articles from my online account to a newly installed version of zotero?

From an online account you just sync, that's what it's for:
https://www.zotero.org/support/sync

Are we sure that having an empty standalone version will not sync an empty library to the online account?

Yes. Sync never deletes things unless you explicitly delete them in Zotero.

Gotcha.

Its trying to sinc by clicking on the 'sync with server' button on the upper right corner and typing in email and password, however the arrow circle just spins and nothing is being sync'd.

Help?

how long are you waiting? May take some time on a large sync, especially.

Been waiting half hour so far. Nothing has showed up.

How many items are in your library online (click on "My Library" at the top here, the total number of items is at the bottom of your library)?
When you hover over the spinning green button, what does it say?

That really shouldn't take this long. I'd let it run for a little longer but it'd be good if @Dan%20Stillman could take a look at what's going on.

Are you still not seeing anything? Looks like a few downloads went through for you on our end, though syncing was slow this morning.
