Can someone modify the style of "The journal of physical chemistry" A, B and C to meet the new rules

Hello,

I have recently submitted a manuscript to The journal of physical chemistry A, and ACS staff asked me to change the references. The new style of JPCA does not require issue anymore.

Can someone change it or tell me how to change it from the old version of styles.

Without having checked, I'd assume this is standard ACS rules, i.e. issues are required when journals aren't continuously paginated per volume. As we have no way of checking whether that's the case, we err on the side of more rather than less information.

Hi adamsmith,

It means that users like me continue using the old version, and make changes in the text later. This would be very boring and tedious. Is it feasible if I modify the csl file?

Just to be clear -- I don't think this changed for the journal. It's just not something we have ever been able to automate (or likely will be able to in the near future).

But sure, you can easily modify the CSL. The style is this one:

(JPCA just links to this). All you need to do is find and delete <text variable="issue" prefix="(" suffix=")"/>.
