Chrome Extension JavaScript Error [Report ID: 19168696417]

Under the Options for the Chrome Zotero Extension, it says that the Zotero Standalone is unavailable, which is not true. I am logged in and it's fine. The extension is not allowing me to save anything unless it's on the Zotero site. Here is the error:

[JavaScript Error: "Attempting to use a disconnected port object" {file: "extensions::messaging" line: 64}]

Thanks in advance for your help!

  • that error message is harmless.

We'd need a more specific description of what you're trying to do and what's not working. You're trying to save from where?

Also you say "I am logged in" -- that doesn't make sense with respect to Zotero Standalone. It doesn't have a "log in". What are you referring to?
  • Thank you for the info about the error message.

I have two issues and they may be related, but I'm not sure.

    1) The Zotero Chrome extension is not working properly. The icon is greyed out. When I click on this icon, no webpages being saved. Also, right-clicking the icon and choosing Save to Zotero doesn't work. Reauthorizing or clearing credentials under the Options menu for the extension doesn't clear up the issue.

    2) I am logged into the Zotero Standalone (yes, there is no login for the extension, but there is for the Standalone app so I can sync my library). Updating the status doesn't do anything.

I hope I made this clearer and with the information you need. Thanks for your help.
  • With Standalone running
    Paste
    http://127.0.0.1:23119/connector/ping

into the Chrome bar and press return. What do you see?
