Word could not communicate with Zotero.

Same issue many others have, seems with no resolution.

Getting this error:

"Word could not communicate with Zotero. Please ensure that Zotero or Firefox is open and try again."

Brand new Zotero user so perhaps I have a setting wrong?

Macbook pro 2016 model, OSX 10.11.6, word for Mac 15.27, zotero 4.0.29.15

I have the same issue with a MacBook Pro 2012 model on OXS 10.11.6 and Word for Mac 15.27. I've tried it with the most recent Zotero Standalong and with the Firefox extension with the same result. I have restarted my computer and word multiple times.

What is the location of your Word startup folder?

The Word startup folder is under office in applications -- then startup -- then under word folder.

Try setting a different startup folder. My understanding is that that location doesn't actually work for templates.
Instead, use ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/User Content/Startup/Word
