DOI-field for books

Is there a possibility to create DOI-fields not only for journal articles but also for chapters and books?

we'll get DOIs for all item types in the mid-term future, yes. (Specifically, for technical reasons outlined elsewhere, two major versions of Zotero down, i.e. 5.1 or 6.0 depending on how devs decide to go with the naming)

In the meantime, you can put the DOI in the Extra field using the following syntax:

DOI: 10.1234/56789

...and citation styles will pick that up if they're set to use DOIs for all item types, as is the case e.g. for APA.
