Repairing database

My zotero.sqlite file is currently 509Mb. I ran 'Check Database Integrity' which gave a 'Errors were found in your Zotero database' message.

As the auto repair tool won't accept files greater than 100mb, I followed the 'manual zotero database repair' instructions. Unfortunately, the new sqlite file generated by the process doesn't retain my database details (it is only 4kb in size) (I have got back ups).

Advice on next steps would be much appreciated.
  • Thank you for your very speedy response (and apologies for not giving sufficient information in the first place!).

    I’m using OX X Yosemite 10.10.4; Firefox 49.0.1; and Zotero 4.0.29.15.

The manual repair instructions I found on https://zotero.org/utils/dbfix/manual.

Many thanks for all your support and this fantastic tool.

The instructions should definitely work. Can you copy the full output (Cmd-A, Cmd-C) from Terminal after trying this, paste it into a "secret gist" at https://gist.github.com/, and provide a link to that?
  • Hi Dan. Apologies for slow reply. I'm not sure what happened but my database managed to sync with the zotero server and it all now seems absolutely fine! So thank you so much again for your all support and this fantastic tool. Best wishes. W
