Mobile bookmark for Android Chrome not working

I followed the steps as explained on the site! The process is not adding a new item to the library! Please help!

I am not sure if Android Chrome ever supported bookmarklets, but it certainly hasn't for quite some time. Firefox for Android, however, works fine.

I haven't tested this, but these instructions, though some years old, look like they might provide a workaround for getting the bookmarklet working on mobile Chrome: http://www.labnol.org/software/google-chrome-bookmarklets/27894/

I've just come across this problem (May 2018) and the solution does seem to work. Would it be possible to get a sentence added to the Android Chrome section on the download page?

Something along the lines of "5. To use the bookmarklet on a page, tap into the address bar for the page you want to grab and start typing the name you have saved the bookmarklet as. When it appears in the autocorrect, tap it."

I presume also that you need to be logged into your Zotero account in your mobile browser for it to know where to save to. Might be worth explicitly saying that in the documentation too.

@fcheslack I agree it would be useful to add info on how to actually use the bookmarklet page.

@jim if you're not logged in, Zotero will prompt you to login, so that doesn't required additional instructions.
